Will I need a guitar?

I would say it’s preferable to have your own guitar (in the interest of practice!) although not essential as you can use one of mine.

Do you do group lessons?

I can teach up to groups of 4 although would recommend a slightly longer lesson to cater for the extra students so please contact me to discuss the details.

Do you teach beginners?

Yes of course, around 85% of new students are beginners.

What ages do you teach?

I am more than happy to teach any age, the youngest person I teach is 5 and the oldest is approaching his 64th Birthday – It’s all about attitude!

How much does a guitar lesson cost?

The lessons cost £25 for 45 minutes although times can be tailored to suit you. Some students prefer to drop in for an Hour session once a month – others may require a series of shorter, more frequent lessons to prepare for an exam or audition. If you’d like to talk over some options then please get in contact.

Do you teach Ukulele lessons?

Yes, the Ukulele is very popular and can also be a great way to get the younger children (4-6yrs) playing music and introduce some of the basic techniques needed for the guitar.

When do you teach?

The majority of my teaching starts at 15:30 (when the kids are back from school) and runs until around 9pm. Exceptions can be made and the occasional weekend slot can also be arranged upon request.

Do you have a cancellations policy?

I ask that students give me at least 24 hours’ notice if they need to cancel; otherwise the full amount is still payable. This gives me time to rearrange my schedule.

How far will you travel?

Generally anywhere within a 3 mile radius from my home is included in the price and further afield may incur extra cost – it’s always worth giving me a call as I may already teach someone in your local area. Skype lessons might be the better option in this case…

Do you do Skype guitar lessons?

Yes! Funny you should ask. Skype lessons are £20 per ¾ Hour and are payable via PayPal 24 hours prior.

All you need to learn with Skype:

  • A computer/laptop
  • ‘Skype’ software (totally free!)
  • A webcam
  • Speakers
  • Relatively fast internet speed (> 3mbps)
  • Your guitar!
